Untitled: Mr. Poes

Created by French artist Mr Poes in Mumbai’s Mahim (East) Art District, the mural brings the artist’s playful and fantastical visual language into one of the city’s most densely populated urban neighbourhoods. Drawing from his early influences of hip-hop, comics and manga, Poes works with humour, irony and dreamlike imagery to create poetic narratives that sit between the real and imagined. His intervention forms part of St+art India Foundation’s development of Mahim as an open-air gallery, where murals by Indian and international artists respond to the character of the neighbourhood and bring contemporary art into the everyday lives of its communities.
