Untitled: Fearless Collective

For St+art Mumbai 2017’s Sassoon Dock Art Project, Fearless Collective developed Sustenance, a participatory mural created through conversations and workshops with women working around the dockyard. Founded by Shilo Shiv Suleman, Fearless Collective uses public art as a way of creating space for people and communities to articulate their experiences. At Sassoon Dock, the process began with women from the dockyard entering spaces traditionally inaccessible to them and reflecting on the people, places and relationships that sustain their lives. These conversations were translated into a mural across two walls at the historic fishing dock, connecting the experiences of local women with the wider social and environmental context of the waterfront.
