Visions of Altered Landscapes
by Aaron Li Hill
Aaron Li-Hill (1986) is a Canadian artist known for his work in painting, illustration, stencilling, and sculpture. With roots in graffiti and mural painting, his art spans from small pieces to large murals, exploring themes of industrialisation, scientific breakthroughs, man vs nature, and information overload. He uses found objects and unconventional materials to create complex, multi-layered works. His art has been exhibited in major institutions like the National Gallery of Victoria and The Art Gallery of Ontario.
Li-Hill addresses climate change through a mural depicting local realities in India and Canada. Using Lodhi's symmetrical architecture, he mirrors two affected parts of the globe. An Indian boy and a tiger represent the east, while a polar bear and a woman represent the west.
With dynamic spray cans and brush strokes, Aaron conveys optimism and the power to effect change before our world dissolves.
