Heroes Of Mumbai

Created in 2020 by St+art India Foundation and Asian Paints at Mumbai’s Mahim Junction, Heroes of Mumbai pays tribute to the frontline and essential workers who kept the city running through the COVID-19 pandemic. Designed by artist Do and executed by muralist Munir Bukhari, the large-scale murals transform the station’s walls into portraits of doctors, nurses, police personnel, sanitation workers, delivery workers and other everyday heroes. Through bold, expressive imagery, the project brings visibility to the people who continued to serve the city during an unprecedented moment, turning a busy public transit space into a collective gesture of recognition and gratitude.
