The New Door

‘The New Door’, by Antonyo Marest: Spanish artist Antonyo Marest’s ‘New Door’ depicts the artist’s colourful wish for the community of Kannagi Nagar to live a better and bright future. Using a vibrant assortment of gradients, and marked with the word ‘Allegra’, which translates to ‘joyful’ in English, ‘The New Door’ is Marest’s attempt to spread positive vibes in the neighbourhood. With patterns of fish, palm trees and anchors, the piece also celebrates one of Chennai’s most recognizable features as a city -- popular both as a coastal region and for its marine economy.
