The Lava Tree

Anpu Varkey, a Bangalore-based artist, graduated from Baroda and London. She had her first solo show in New York in 2008 and then moved to Bremen, Germany, where she shared a studio with 15 artists. During her two years there, she organized an exhibition at a nightclub and began street doodling. In 2011, she moved to Delhi and painted her first wall at the Khirkee Extension project. Since then, she has been actively painting murals across India.

Anpu continues to evolve as an artist, exploring new forms like her mural in Lodhi Colony, which depicts a tree consuming a building, symbolizing the menace of our minds.
