Fusion Art

by Rakesh Kumar Memrot

Rakesh Kumar Memrot, a Delhi-based artist with nearly ten years of experience, studied fine arts at Jamia Millia Islamia and completed a master's in art at Jiwaji University, Gwalior. He focuses on folk art and Gond art, particularly sparrows, and has created commissioned works for INA Consumer Court, Archaeological Survey of India, and others.

This mural, in the Gond style, highlights ecosystem balance and the impact of habitat loss on animals. Rakesh centers the composition around an elephant, integrating the mural with its surroundings by extending its tusks into branches. He blends traditional painting with modern stencilling, naming it Fusion Art.
