Delhi Lace

by NeSpoon

NeSpoon, a Polish street artist, revives the tradition of doily making by bringing it to urban landscapes. Since 2009, she has transformed this domestic art into street murals, 3D lace installations, and ceramic pieces, softening cityscapes. Her work draws inspiration from local textile traditions, celebrating femininity and community harmony worldwide.

NeSpoon has engaged in socially and politically conscious projects and participated in global street art events like Emergence Festival and Urban Nation. For one mural, she combined European lace traditions with Indian patterns and local flowers. Inspired by the vibrant Saaris and Sahmal tree flowers in Delhi, she used color for the first time, choosing red and orange. This piece highlights the connection between European and Indian women's crafts, giving them a modern urban twist.
