Dawn of Valour

Unveiled on India’s 78th Independence Day, "Dawn of Valour" honours the bravery of the Indian Defence Forces in Tawang. Located on the Army Helipad Wall near the Tawang War Memorial, this mural by Reshidev R K celebrates the soldiers' resilience in the challenging Himalayan terrain. The mural features "The Heroes of Tawang" — Subedar Joginder Singh, Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat, and Major Ralengnao ‘Bob’ Khathing, whose acts of valour inspire both the military and community. It also pays tribute to the vital role of women in the armed forces. Additionally, a community project at the OR Mess for stationed troops features Warli art and Maharashtrian cultural icons, creating a comforting space that connects soldiers with their roots in Tawang.
