Balance in Mind and in Spirit

Artist Saner used elements he observed on his first visit to Old Delhi to create a piece that blends Indian and Mexican elements and imagery. Then he depicted diverse flora and fauna in the mural to depict his belief that guide the viewer to reflect on how the natural world connects us all by giving us a spiritual understanding of life. On each side of the central arch, a man and a woman represent the order and balance in the universe; their clothes and adornments identify Mexican and desi traditions. Saner often uses masks in his work, an integral part of Mexican culture and often used as a tool to reveal the true nature of human beings using animal forms.
